We also know that Hispanics/Latinos may have specific preferences, especially when it comes to medical attention and health care. That’s why we’ve created Latino Health Solutions, a program designed to provide specialized product portfolios and health information and services in Spanish, to meet the health care needs of Hispanic families.

Latino Health Solutions provides bilingual materials that address the common health issues of the Hispanic community, including diabetes, heart disease, etc., and information on healthy lifestyle changes that may assist members in taking care of their health and the health of their families. Some of the tools that we provide to employers to better reach and support their Hispanic workforce include printed materials, computer-based learning modules, bilingual customer service, and materials that help members understand how to appropriately utilize their health insurance.

Many of our Hispanic members prefer to communicate in Spanish, especially when dealing with complicated or personal issues regarding their health, healthcare, and health insurance. We also recognize that, while many Hispanic members may speak fluent English, they may live in households where Spanish is the preferred language. UnitedHealthcare is committed to developing products and services tailored to meet the unique health care needs of Hispanics. This Internet site is a demonstration of our commitment to provide bilingual information in an accessible and usable form.

We now serve over 2.2 million Hispanic commercial members through employer-sponsored health care coverage, and many more through our government-sponsored programs.
